centers, Basic subdepartments
Institute has 3 scientific schools, basic subdepartments in major higher education institutions of city,
postgraduate centre. In cooperation with leading companies
and higher education institutions 2 research and educational centers (REC) were established.
There are 3 scientific schools established by leading scientists of FSUE
CRISM "Prometey" and well-known in Russia and abroad.
- Fundamental and applied research works on creation of advanced
structural materials (steels, nickel and titanium alloys) for equipment
of nuclear power engineering operated under extreme conditions".

- Fundamental and applied research works for development of advanced
high-strength welding steels, polymer composites, corrosion protection
means and multipurpose coatings for wide use in surface submarine
shipbuilding.

FSUE CRISM "Prometey" works closely with leading higher education
institutions of St. Petersburg and it ensures an effective interrelationship
at all stages of specialist and young scientist training, from students to
post-graduate students and candidates for a doctor's degree. Bachelor-level
and master-level program, training programs of post-graduate students and
candidates for a doctor's degree are implemented within the framework of REC
activities.

To ensure advanced training and to reduce adaptation time of young
specialists in the enterprises as well as keeping in mind the necessity of
reproduction of the Institute human capacity in main scientific activities
FSUE CRISM "Prometey" established basic subdepartments in leading higher
education institutions of St. Petersburg.
Basic master subdepartment "Functional materials and
technologies" at joint Research and educational center "Structural and
functional materials" of State Educational Institution of Higher
Professional Education Polytechnic University of St.Petersburg (at Material
Science and Technology Department) and FSUE CRISM "Prometey".

Department numbers 14 lecturers: doctors of sciences,
professors – 6 persons; candidate of science, docents – 6 persons, 2 senior
professors.
Basic subdepartment "Advanced materials and technologies in
shipbuilding" on the base of State Marine Technical University of
St.Petersburg at Research and educational center "New materials and
state-of-the-art technologies of their manufacturing".
